LIBERTY STAMPEDE TICKETS GO ON SALE AT
CUPID'S CORRAL (AT PURE NIGHTCLUB) ON FEBRUARY 16TH!
Letter From The President
Howdy gang,
We're starting to do the final countdown till rodeo and
things are starting to heat up (in a good way). Our rodeo
tickets will be officially going on sale at our Cupid's
Corral dance. As a thank you for supporting our first rodeo
we have created 500 limited edition collectors weekend passes
aka the "Golden" ticket. These tickets are going
to go quickly. We will be offering online sales for our
tickets by the end of January including individual day passes
if you can not make the entire weekend.
As our marketing strategy is kicking into full gear we are
looking for different artwork to use in advertising. If
you feel creative and want to try some artwork design for
the rodeo please send all artwork to Pres@Libertygra.org.
All artwork must be received no later than 2/18. Please
submit artwork in PSD (Photoshop) format without combining
layers. By submitting your complimentary artwork to LGRA
we have the free right to change, alter or utilize the artwork
at will. All approved artwork submissions will be posted
on the LGRA website with credit given to the artists. Imagine
seeing your design in HX magazine along with other publications.
I look forward to seeing how creative our membership is!
We are looking for help with marketing in and around Eastern
PA, NJ, DE, NY, NYC, Boston, Pittsburgh and Ohio. If you
live in any of these regions and know of GLBT or GLBT friendly
establishments that would put our poster up and/or take
other marketing tools like bar cards and membership forms
please send me an email and we can get our marketing packets
out there.
With our memberships help we ARE "Stampeding into History".
Membership Renewal Change
At
then next General Membership Meeting we will be announcing
a change in the membership renewal dates. As demonstrated
by the chart on the right, we will be going to a quarterly
renewal process. It will extend some memberships up to 3
months and allow for the Membership chair and assistant
to process cards and renewal notifications in a much more
timely and cost effective manner.

Hello everyone, I hope you’re enjoying
the relatively calm winter so far. Spring will come sooner
than we know it, and the inaugural Liberty Stampede to boot!
I hope you’ve marked your calendar for May 9-11, and
join us for a great time…
The Liberty Gay Rodeo Association has many great benefits
– enhancing and promoting the country & western
lifestyle within the GLBT community, the education on rodeo
events, and outreach to the GLBT community. But most importantly
our premier purpose as an organization is charitable work.
As we grow stronger, LGRA hopes to become a source for helping
non-profit charities within the area. The Liberty Stampede
is a big part of that. We have teamed up with R Perry Monastero
and the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund to find recipients of
our available grant monies raised from the rodeo. DVLF has
been experienced in locating the right match for the best
benefit from our donations, and Perry has been especially
helpful and knowledgeable in guiding us in the right direction.
In order to be a great success, of course your support is
crucial. By all means, as a member you are LGRA’s
greatest resource! I hope you are planning on coming, but
also make sure to spread the word around to your friends.
Also if you or anyone you know would like to be a sponsor
for Liberty Stampede (personal or corporate), I implore
you to get in touch with our great sponsorship chair, Steve
Oliver, at sponsorship@libertygra.org. It not now strengthens
our organization, but also helps some very worthy causes.
Also if you are a part of a 501(c)3 charity and want more
information on how to be a part of the Legacy Fund, contact
DVGF at http://www.dvlf.org. Now let’s rodeo!
Cheers!

Volunteer News - Chris Maurizio
THREE MONTHS AWAY!!! That's right, our first
rodeo, the Liberty
Stampede 2008, is only 3 months away! I can't believe how
fast the
time has flown. Several of us will be in Las Vegas this
month for
IGRA University so we can learn the ropes to throw you guys
a Rootin’ Tootin’ rodeo! I've been receiving
volunteer forms from across the country.
I've been working with our Rodeo Directors,
Jeff and Tom, in
getting our coordinators in place and things are just starting
to fall
into place. I've requested that the ASGRA Volunteer Coordinator
(Beth Brockelman) be my Assistant Volunteer Coordinator
and she has agreed - there's nothing that can take the place
of experience and she's done the ASGRA rodeo for a while
now and I welcome her aboard.
We are still in the need for more volunteers.
We need people to help us setup on Thursday, help us with
the dance Friday and Saturday nights, and at the rodeo grounds
on Saturday and Sunday. We also need people to help us pack
it all up on Monday. Our volunteers are rewarded by gaining
access to the dances and rodeos - 4 hours gets you in to
1 dance and 1 rodeo and 8 hours gets you into both dances
and both rodeos. If you are interested in being part of
this momentous Philadelphia event and help us Stampede into
History then go to our website at http://www.LibertyStampede.com
and fill out our volunteer registration page.
